Cass crouched down and examined it. The streets had been blocked off by police, allowing only Division access inside. Normally this would be nothing, and life would go on, but two people had disappeared in the middle the day; just walked, and vanished.
Lying in the middle of the street was a shaft of bone that curved, looking something like a horn. But it wasn't a bone of any sort that Cass knew about. It was very much out of place, and had to be something relevant.

Tristan had flashed his ID, and was allowed into the isolated street. Thankfully, no-one was around aside from his fellow agent, Cass. Good to know that the situation was in safe hands.
"What's the situation?" he asked, crouching alongside Cass and examining the bone. "Okay, that doesn't look like a regular human bone."

"Two people just vanished," he said, "People saw them walking, and then nothing. Gone before their very eyes. And then we have this bone," he gestured to it, although he knew Tristan had seen it, "Not anything I've ever seen before. And don't touch it."

Sarah arrived a few minutes later, panting after having been called on short notice. She flashed her ID at the police before being allowed into the area, Cass and Tristan were already there at the scene.
"Sorry I'm late" She said whilst taking a look at the bone-like object. "So, what do we got?"

Cass repeated what he had said to Tristan, and repeated his warning not to touch the bone.
"No idea what it is," Cass said. His mind briefly went to the strange images that appeared in the crystal, those beings that they had seen. He hoped that this wasn't connected.

Sarah nodded as she examined the object more closely, it certainly wasn't from any human skeletal structure. It appeared to be a foot long, and curved almost like a horn,
"Okay, I got two guesses. Either that's been carved and shaped the way it is by someone else, perhaps with some sort of incantation, or we're talking a creature we have not identified until now"

"If I had to guess, some new, unidentified creature," Cass said, "I've seen a lot of animals in my day. This matches nothing."

"From what the cops outside were saying, it makes people vanish." Tristan smoothed out his tie. "So it's probably not carved, unless the carver wanted to vanish or something."

"Could have still been carved, and the carve of it makes it cause disappearances."

"Is it possible to get it back to base without us vanishing too?" Tristan asked.

Cass just shrugged.

"Do we have any containment apparatus' for objects such as these?" Sarah asked. "Either way, I don't think we should leave this thing out in the open any longer then we should."

"I'm sure we do." Tristan said. "Did any of you bring a box for this?"

"That'd be me," said Celina, walking over from the direction of the DO NOT CROSS taped perimeter. Another company car was parked nearby with a woman glancing up from her phone in the passenger seat. Some might recognize her as one of the Division psych specialists.
Celina lifted up what looked to be a bloated metal briefcase and gave it a hearty pat. "What do we got?" she asked. Even if it was just to drop off some tech, she was glad for the opportunity to get out of the lab.

"Bone that apparently transports people out of thin air," he told Celina, "Or something like that. A few people just vanished in the middle of the street, and this isn't a bone from anything I've ever seen."
