The assignment was simple enough. Adrien had needed someone to come with him and assist, even if he really didn't need it. In case there was something computer related, he had made sure to arrange for Teagan Black to assist him. The assignment was to find and disable some sort of seismic device that had been created with alien technology that someone had scavenged.
Adrien had made arrangements at a beachfront hotel for them, because why not enjoy the time here on the coast of Australia? Based on the reports, it was about three days before the device would go off, based on intelligence reports received.
Adrien was currently sitting at breakfast in the hotel, hoping his companion would join him.

It was a beautiful day, beautiful morning. But Teagan wasn't much of a morning person. It was one of her first ever field assignments and she couldn't wait to get going. She had packed hastily, and found out that she had forgotten a pair of pajamas. She didn't know her partner too very well, Adrien, but she didn't mind at all. He was on her side, so he'd be nice, right? Plus, he requested her personally! Perhaps her abilities with the computer had began to be known around the division.
Needless to say, despite not being a morning person, and forgetting pajamas, Teagan was happy. She had gotten dressed in new clean clothes, brushed through her hair and made sure she looked presentable. She checked her watch before her eyes widened and she ran all the way to the hotel's dining room, where breakfast was being served. She could waste time.
She spotted her partner and quickly sat at his table with a huge smile. "Hello!" Teagan said happily, "So... what have we planned for the day?"

With his fork he cut a piece of his eggs away from the rest and looked up at her as she joined his table. He listened to her question and smiled, "Well, that's an interesting question," he told her, eating the piece he had cut. It was a good question, and made sense, but he had other thoughts about it. He swallowed and spoke again, "We have a few days to locate the target device."
He glanced out the window, at the beach and the ocean. It was beautiful. He commented as such, "We have such a beautiful view here," he said, "Almost takes away the thought that all of this could go, if we fail here." He looked at her again, "Granted, you're far more beautiful to me."

She picked up her toast from her plate and took a bit of it, now that she had asked her question and he wasn't looking at her like she had asked something stupid. After all, she hadn't really done field work very often, being a new kid in the division. "The sooner the better, right?" Teagan asked with a huge smile, "Though a countdown could be more dramatic and fun."
Teagan looked out the window when he did, agreeing with him on the beauty of the beach and ocean. However, she was slightly caught off guard when she called him beautiful. "It's much more beautiful out there than I am," Teagan answered with a small laugh, "You sure have a weird taste of beauty, if you really think that." It wasn't that she didn't think herself as pretty, but that others wouldn't find her beautiful. She always thought she was one of the only ones that would find her beautiful for a long time. Plus Adrien was older, though she was an adult. Then again, a slightly older guy was good in her books, if age really matter to her.

Adrien shook his head, "My tastes are hardly weird," he told her. "No; they're right." He moved from his seat and sat beside her, taking one of her hands into his. He wondered if her words about it being more beautiful outside were supposed to be a reflection that she didn't think herself overly attractive, or something else.
Adrien had had enough women to know what beauty was, and she was beautiful. Youth really helped, although age alone wouldn't take that beauty from her. He leaned up and put his mouth by her ear, "You should join me in my room," he whispered to her, "Neither of us would regret it."

Teagan was taken aback, not used to men being like this around her, especially to her. Even her friends back home weren't usually like this, though she had to admit, she did have a crush on Cole... or she loved him at one point, though right now those feelings had faded and she considered him a very good friend she might not ever see again. Either way, she wasn't used to this, and wasn't quite sure how to react.
"I think we would. Adrien..." Teagan said, pulling away from him a little, though she had to admit, she really liked his eyes, "We barely know each other, and we have to work in a team together." She was doing her best to be as nice as possible, carefully choosing her words, hating when she hurt another's feelings. Though it didn't help that right now what was going through her head was that he chose her to come with him because of other reasons and not her skills, and that was fairly upsetting. "I-I don't think I'm ready for that kind of relationship... yet. Maybe someday, maybe someday soon, but right now, I'm not."

He drew himself away after listening to her talk. He showed no emotion on his face, just a blank expression for now. He rose from his seat and looked to her; he had brought her for both her ability and appearance. "Very well then," he said, leaving it at that. He tossed some money onto the table to pay for his half eaten meal and walked from the room.
He wasn't bitter or angry; he just saw no need spending more time here than he already had. He walked outside onto the beach and headed towards the bar. He'd spend some time there for now; after all, it would be days before they actually had to act against their target.
